تحكي هذه الرواية قصة أمير نشأ في قصر في جزيرة صغيرة إسمها “ياوار”، وفقد، مع نمو وعيه، انسجامه مع التقاليد والطقوس التي تربّى عليها منذ صغره والتي تدور حول فكرة الحرية والواجب والقوى الملهمة للبشر، فبدأ محاولة التحرر ممّا اسقرّ في ذهنه من أوهام وأضاليل، والتوسع في البحث عن هويته الضائعة خارج محيط القصر الملكي. وهكذا، تضعه الأقدار في مسار طويل غير متوقّع، يتعرّف خلالَهُ إلى وُجوه جديدة يأنس إليها ويَجدُ معها بعضاً من حريته التي يبحث عنها، فيشارك رفاقه الجدد همومهم ويخوض معهم، بإسم جديد وهوية جديدة، معركة إثبات وجودهم، مع ما يكلفه ذلك من تخلٍ عن امتيازات حياة القصر الذي غادره. ومع توالي الأحداث، ينتهي به المطاف، رُغم شكه وقلقه الدائمين، إلى طرح رؤيته على أبناء جزيرته حول أحوال زمانه وأحوال أهل هذا الزمان.

this novel tells the story of a prince who was brought up in a palace on a small island named “yawar” and as he grew he lost awareness of traditions and rituals on which he was raised, as this rituals revolves on the notion of freedom, duty, and the inspirational powers for humans, so he started an attempt to be free of illusions and corruption which has been settling in his mind and to expand his search for his lost identity outside the royal palace, as destiny puts him in a long unexpected path, through which he gets to know new faces and he find company in them and some of the lost freedom he was searching for, so he shares some of his sorrows with them, he fights a battle of proving ones self,under a new name and new identity, but it costs him to let go the privileges of the palace life which he left, and as events continues he ends up inspire of his skepticism and constant worry to present his vision on the inhabitants of the island about the situation of his time, and the people of this time.
